It was announced on the 28th that the Korean five-member female group NewJeans will be appearing for the first time on the “74th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen” (7/20), which will be broadcast on New Year’s Eve.

Since their Korean debut in July last year, the group has been taking the world by storm, winning numerous music awards in their home country and being selected as one of the “71 Most Stylish People of the Year” by the New York Times. It is extremely unusual for a group whose Japanese debut is yet to be decided to participate, and promising new talent will grace the big stage at the end of the year.

New Jeans, the most trending K-POP girl group who appeared at a music live event held in Yokohama and gave a performance that excited the audience, is making an emergency appearance at Kohaku. According to people involved, New Jeans will appear in the second half of the show, when it reaches its climax.

In addition to appearing at the Japan Record Awards on the 30th, NewJeans will also appear on the New Year’s Eve special program “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024” broadcast from South Korea on ABC in the US on New Year’s Day.
