Is Ishihara Promotion being liquidated?

Ishihara Promotion was founded by the late Ishihara Yujiro and has been a well-known entertainment agency, production company and movie production company since its founding back in 1963.

But is the company liquidating?

According to Daily Shincho, the publication is saying that the company is liquidating and will be complete dissolved by January of next year.

While the company shutting down has been thrown in the media multiple times, the publication investigated and said that Ishihara International was added but while Ishihara Music was liquidated last year, Ishihara Pro and Ishihara Music Publishing still remain.  After the dissolution of Ishihara Pro, it will be integrated into Ishihara Music Publishing to manage the copyright of singing royalties for karaoke.

According to the article, Yujiro wrote in his original will to shut down Ishihara Pro if he died. But it was felt that it should be continued to support his widowed wife, Makiko.

Ishihara Yujiro died on July 17, 1987 at the age of 52.
