Ayase Haruka and Takenouchi to Yutaka to star in a drama adaptation of Sakurazawa Rin’s manga “Gibo to Musume no Blues”

Sakurazawa Rin’s four-panel manga “Gibo to Musume no Blues” (Mother-in-Law and Daughter’s Blues) will receive a drama adaptation.

The TBS drama which begins at 10:00-11:07 on July 30th will star Ayase Haruka (33) and Takenouchi Yutaka (47).

The drama will be the first time Ayase will play the role of a mother-in-law.

The drama is about Akiko, a career woman who is a head of professionals and uses business terms in frequent everyday conversation.  She is marrying a man named Ryoichi who is a salaryman who works for a rival company and he has an 8-year-old daughter.

Akiko has overcome many challenges, but can she prepare for her next challenge, to raise a child and do housework?

Ayase said, “A career woman who does a great job with her job but struggles to raise a child is an interesting setting, but the story will be warm, cute and funny.  It’s a story that will make you smile”.

Takenouchi said, “When I read the script, it made me think about the meaning of ‘connecting relationships with other people’.  Even if there is no connection by blood, the family figure that can share daily happiness with love and effort can be very loving.  I would be happy if you could watch the mother-in-law, daughter and her real father, who wants to make someone happy on a weekly basis.  I will do my best”.
