Hanshin Tigers Obata Ryuhei is being tested for COVID-19, Obata’s PCR test was negative

The Hanshin Tigers announced that Obata Ryuhei (19) has undergone a PCR test to check if he is infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

UPDATE: Obata’s test was negative.

Obata had a fever with a 37 degree celsius temperature, but has not exhibited lost taste or smell like others and has been isolated in his dorm room.

Obata ate with infected player Nagasaka Kenta for two consecutive days (March 24-25)

Hanshin Tigers PR emphasized that Obata did not go to the dinner party with pitcher Fujinami Shintaro, who had also tested positive, along with players Nagasaka and Ito Hayata (30).
