For the first time in 45 years, Fuji TV’s “Sazae-san” will be rebroadcasted on May 17th due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.

When a new episode will be aired is undecided since production was halted due to the emergency declaration back on April 7th.

This will be the first time since 1975 that a new episode will not be broadcast. During that time, the broadcast of new episodes was not done and a replay of episodes aired from February 2nd to March 2nd due to the oil crisis.

“Sazae-san” has aired on television since October 5, 1969 and is the longest animation running on television.

In addition, a few days ago, the longest running manga “Golgo 13” was also suspended for the first time since the manga started back in 1968.
