MAX member MINA talks about returning to the group after giving birth to her first child

Dance vocal group MAX from Okinawa celebrated their 26th anniversary in May 2021.

Debuting back in 1995, the music industry changed thanks to Amuro Namie and the Super Monkeys (which would change their name to MAX).

For member MINA, a perfectionist, she talked recently about coming back to the group after giving birth to her first child.

MINA said that when she was in her teens and twenties, she was a perfectionist that if she made a mistake or something went wrong, she would cry. But when she had her first child and became a mother, it changed her.

MINA gave birth to her first child at the age of 24 and her mother told her “You don’t have to work so hard. It’s important to take care of yourself because you’ll have to be able to raise your child for the rest of your life”.

Hearing that from her mother changed her a lot.

MINA said the way they perceived work has changed a lot and to see how much has changed. When she was younger, she could not show herself as weak and would never confess her worries to the other members or talk to them about her worries. In fact, the members would tell her, “I don’t know what your thinking”. But now, whenever she is feeling bad, they listen to her without saying anything, hugs her and they accept her. And feels that her anxieties and worries disappear by having them by her side.

The group will be holding an online live concert on July 4th.
