Tanaka Reika wrote on her blog that she unknowingly infected her family with COVID-19

Former Morning Musume member Tanaka Reina updated her blog on September 23rd. Back in the end of July, Tanaka tested positive for the novel coronavirus, but on the blog, she wrote that she unknowingly infected her family members, who she lives with.

Tanaka said having the novel coronavirus was the “worst situation for me in 31 years” and said she had a hard time both physically and mentally.

Tanaka wrote that the first PCR test she received after hearing a close contact was negative, her test was negative, so she spent time with her family as usual until she was retested.

“I was very careful not to touch the doorknob with my bare hands in the house after I tested positive, or to use the toilet in different places, but it was too late, I had already transferred it to my whole family.  I was shocked that I had transferred it to my family and they had it worse than I had,” Tanaka said.

Tanaka also said she feels guilty about the suffering she caused her family and wished that she suffered it the most and not them. And wish she done what was best.

She also wrote that she and her family are recovering and getting back to day-to-day life.
