Kurosaki Maon has passed away

On February 28th, it was announced on the official website that singer Kurosaki Maon (35) had passed away.

It was reported that she passed away suddenly on February 16 due to the worsening of his chronic illness. According to the wishes of his bereaved family, her funeral was already attended by only his close relatives.

Kurosaki made his major debut in 2010 with the album “HOTD”, which included the ending theme of the TV anime series “Highschool of the Dead”. She was mainly active in anime songs, and has been in charge of the music for works such as the “Toaru Majutsu no Index” series, the “Hakuouki” series and “Gakkogurashi!”.

From 2011-2016, she was the vocalist of Altima with Motsu of the band, m.o.v.e.

In September 2019, she formed the music unit “ALICEs” with Kanda Sayaka and started activities. When Kanda passed away in December 2021, she declared that “ALICEs will not disband” while expressing her turmoil and sadness (suspension of activities in 2023).

While expanding her activities with overseas performances and stage appearances, in September 2021, she collapsed during a live broadcast and was diagnosed with an epidural hematoma and underwent emergency surgery. Live activities were resumed in May 2022.
