Former and current AKB48 members congratulate Maeda Atsuko on her marriage

Many of Maeda Atsuko’s former AKB48 teammates are sending congratulations to the singer/actress and her husband.

Maeda Atsuko and actor Katsuji Ryo filed for marriage on July 30th and sent a joint statement on July 31st on their marriage and their willingness to start a family.

Watanabe Mayu commented, “I am hoping that the newlyweds lives will be filled with plenty of sunshine and love”.

Akimoto Yasushi, the general producer of AKB48 and had faith in Maeda Atsuko as the center when she was a member. Media reports are that he had dinner with Katsuji and Maeda a few days before the marriage.

Akimoto said about Maeda and Katsuji, “Maeda Atsuko was once a shy junior high student who now wanted to get married.  When she came with him, I became silent and watched them quietly. He understands Maeda Atsuko so much and has a kindness that wraps around everything.  Maeda has an eternal trust towards him. They are a lovely couple.   I sincerely wish them happiness”.
