Searching for the Kochikame Statues near Kameari Station in Katsushika

In yesterday’s blog post, I discussed the the popular manga/anime series “Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo” (“KochiKame” in short) by Akimoto Osamu.

In Katsushika ward, near Kameari Station, numerous bronze statues dedicated to the series can be found. A map is featured inside the station, but can you find them all?

Outside of the North Entrance is the first statue of main character Ryotsu Kankichi.

Now it’s time to find the next statues on the map.

The second statue features Akimoto Reiko. It was across the street and I almost missed it because I thought the statue was going to be big. So, one will need to keep an eye because other statues may be small.

Now to find the third statue of Ryotsu Kankichi. This one features Ryotsu giving a peace sign. And it’s a few blocks back. It’s another small statue!

And now to find the fourth statue which is Ryotsu sitting on a benc. Looks like it will be in a playground near statue #3.

Not difficult to find, from the looks of it, it looks like people like to smoke near the statue with the many cigarette butts by the statue’s feet.

While I was looking for statue #5, I received a message that a friend was planning to meetup with me in another city within an hour. So that meant that I would not be able to find all the bronze statues and will have to say it for another day.

But knowing that I have at least 15 minutes, that means I can find at least the other statues closest to the south side of the station.

So for tomorrow’s blog post, I will focus on what statues I can find before I have to leave Kameari Station.
