Former EE JUMP member Goto Yuki talks his appreciation for his older sister, Goto Maki

Goto Yuki (34) had lived a troubled life.

The younger brother of former Morning Musume member Goto Maki, debuted with Sonim (38) in 2000 to form the music unit EE JUMP, but retired from the entertainment world in 2002 due to poor behavior from going to caberet clubs and getting drunk as a minor.

In 2007, he was arrested for robbery (stealing construction materials) and assault and sent to prison for five in a half years in 2007.

In an interview with non-fiction writer Ieda Shoko for Tokyo Sports, Goto Yuki talked about how his sister had to apologize for his actions and felt “I did something stupid” and said that when he was younger, couldn’t stand when people referred to him as Goto Maki’s younger brother. But now, he says his sister is his pride and he’s now happy to be called Goto Maki’s younger brother.

Goto Yuki divorced his first wife after release from prison and remarried in 2015. He currently works as an air conditioning equipment company run by his father-in-law.
