Goto Yuki, a TV personality and city councilor in Yachimata City, Chiba Prefecture, updated his Twitter account on January 4th. He responded to comments from some users living in the area regarding the company’s cooperation with companies to personally deliver relief supplies to areas affected by the 2020 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
On the 2nd, he commented that he was checking the timing to contact volunteer organizations across the country and visit the sites. On the 3rd, they reported that they loaded the collected relief supplies onto a truck and headed for Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Goto arrived at the site in the afternoon of the same day. General roads are closed to traffic in many places, mobile phone coverage is out of reach 30 kilometers north of Nanao City, lines at gas stations are congested, and refueling restrictions are in place.
He also informed that in addition to food and daily necessities, he had delivered dog food, cat food, pet sheets, etc. as relief supplies, and asked people to directly send DMs to him so he could connect them with rescue organizations and organizations that would take care of their pets.
Goto explained that he had delivered the supplies to a facility that had solicited relief supplies in advance, and that he had contacted the police and government offices beforehand to avoid causing any inconvenience before visiting the site.
