A lot of major networks in Japan are under scrutiny for not reporting about the sexual assault caused by the late Kitagawa Johnny, former president of Johnny’s Jimusho. TV TOKYO has released the following statement:

At today’s press conference, Johnny & Associates received the report and recommendations of the recurrence prevention special team, fully acknowledging the sexual assault of former president Kitagawa Johnny, and took remedial measures for the victims. They announced a policy to thoroughly implement preventive measures and a change of president.

TV Tokyo regards this as an important step for the office to embark on reforms. We intend to work to improve the situation through dialogue.We will watch with great interest so that the new system from October will have true governance functions.
