The defending champions, the ORIX Buffaloes of the Pacific League are up 2-1 in the Japan Series against the Hanshin Tigers. The championship is the first all-Kansai Japan Series since 1964.
The Buffaloes pulled ahead 5-4 in game 3 with game 4 slated for Wednesday night.
The Tigers had a commanding win in game 1 with an 8-0 rout of the Buffaloes, but the following game, the Buffaloes had a commanding win in game 2 with another 8-0 rout.
Games 4 and 5 will be held at Hanshin’s iconic Koshien Stadium.
